FALSETTOS
Monday, October 9th, 2023 at 7:30PM

Max Wojtanowicz and friends will take a deep dive into the history of both Jewish and queer artists that helped shape the Broadway musical FALSETTOS into what it is today. We'll also take a look at how their contributions inspired William Finn and James Lapine to build three one-act musicals that would eventually become Falsettos, and what this musical about a specific moment in time has to say to Latté Da's audiences three decades after its original Broadway bow.

The October 9th Pin Spot cast includes Jason Hansen, Kiko Laureano, Ryan London Levin, and Max Wojtanowicz.

THE COLOR PURPLE
Monday April 8th, 2024 at 7:30PM

Alice Walker's 1982 novel The Color Purple is a staple of American literature. But how did it become a musical? We'll look at the contributions of Black musical theatre makers who've told their stories on Broadway and deep dive into the history of queer women who've made an impact on Broadway. We'll also look at how the novel and the first film by Steven Spielberg influenced the show's development and how a musical version of Celie's story resonates four decades after the novel was published.

The April 8th Pin Spot cast includes China Brickey, John Jamison II, and Max Wojtanowicz.
