Internships at Theater Latté Da

Theater Latté Da’s Internship Program offers a rich and challenging experience for qualified college students, graduates and young professionals who are actively pursuing careers in professional theater. Internships are offered in Marketing/Public Relations, Arts Management and Production.

Theater Latté Da interns have the opportunity to work closely with Theater Latté Da staff and artists in the Twin Cities theater community.

Theater Latté Da offers internships year-round. We are currently seeking interns for the Spring 2016 semester in the following areas:

Marketing/Public Relations
Arts Administration
Production

Marketing/Public Relations Internship

The External Relations department is responsible for generating ticket sales and interest for every production. Interns are given a high level of responsibility and work closely with the staff to develop new audiences, update and maintain the website and social media pages, manage publicity archives, assist with photo/video shoots, and support with other media events and opening nights. Interns also assist with audience research, group sales, direct mail, digital assets and subscription campaigns. Through attendance in meetings with the artistic staff and access to production run-throughs, interns are invited to participate in the artistic process.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing, and proof-reading skills as well as, a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience or coursework in communications-related fields is also desirable and graphic design experience is a plus.

Time Commitment

We ask for a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. The duration of the internship is one academic semester.

Arts Management Internship

This internship is ideal candidates considering a career in arts administration. The intern will work alongside the Managing Director and administrative staff to learn about the details that keep an arts organization functioning smoothly.

Interns are given a high level of responsibility and will engage in projects that include database management, membership systems, donor and grant research, event planning assistance, answering the phone, and sending out e-communications. Interns also communicate in a variety of mediums to stakeholders and supporters, prepare event mailings, track and process RSVPs, fulfill benefits and perks for sponsors and donors and help at special events. Experience with WordPress, Patron Manager, and Photoshop are beneficial, but not required.

Special Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills as well as, a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. A keen eye for detail and phone poise is a must.

Time Commitment

We ask for a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. The duration of the internship is one academic semester.

Production Internships

Observe the planning and technical management of a four-play season that includes world premieres, new interpretations of well-known works, co-productions,  and staged readings of works-in-progress; assist with routine clerical tasks and special projects; conduct research for specific productions; assist stage management as needed; attend production meetings.

Please note: Production internships are not available during the summer as Theater Latté Da does not produce during the summer.

Special Qualifications

The ability to lift, push, or maneuver 50-70 lbs., either alone or with assistance from others, is required. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential, as are communication and research skills and a practical knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in one or more areas of production is desirable.
